The potential that AIG in the US could’ve gone under without federal assistance may greatly impact Toyohara, who does CMs for ALICO’s hospital insurance program (ALICO is the Japanese division of AIG). According to this article at Gendai.net, there is concern that the instability of AIG will impact how much air time the CMs get now, thus affecting Toyohara’s ranking, which in July had jumped into the top 10 in the Kanto region, up from 12th overall in 2007. Placement in Video Research Ltd.’s ranking translates into money for the talent in the CMs, therefore Toyohara could be another loser in the current US economic crunch.
