Toyohara changed agencies in early July and is now managed by après. His artist page has some interesting photos and information — he completed an English course in Sydney this year and he holds scuba certification. The agency’s home page keeps up-to-date with news, currently announcing a lot of magazines that have been released. They seem to be a small agency representing many different kinds of artists and with something of a new age philosophy combining artistry & craftsmanship with personal growth, from artists to staff — check out their info page. They even have a “team blog,” where staff members tell about things they’re doing… two days ago, one of them commented about buying grapes and strawberries to deliver to a shoot Toyohara was at. It’s all very immediate & personal & exciting, making me wish even more I could read Japanese.
There has been a lot of promotion of Nankyoku ryorinin with Toyohara joining director Okita Shuichi at events in Osaka and Nagoya — many media sources in those areas have been reporting on it. Added a couple of small images from events in those cities.
This blog and the news archive blog have both undergone refreshing. All links on this blog pointing to pages on the site should be correct now. In the next days, I’ll be continuing to add information and articles to the news blog, most of it involving the press surrounding Nankyoku ryorinin. I’ll also be posting old news items I’ve had & hadn’t gotten on the blog. I still need to correct links on the image index.
There are still issues with image hosting, most of it now being with access to files. The images are showing up on the site, but I cannot access the file folders to upload new images.

THE SITE HAS MOVED!
Due to the upcoming closure of Geocities, the site has been moved to a new home, which may mean new glitches. As I use an ad blocker, I don’t know if and/or how ads may be placed on the pages… it’s a free account, it’s at the host’s discretion.

It may take me a while to get links changed to open to the pages on the new site. All links in blog posts that point to the site should be correct now.
The home page has been slightly redesigned and updated.
The hosting site for the images is also currently going through changes and having problems. There are times when some or all images on the site are slow to load or don’t load at all. Refreshing the page seems to help if there are broken image links.
I haven’t had much chance to use it yet, but I hope to be making more informal updates on twitter… toyoharafan on Twitter

The home and drama & film credits pages have been updated with information for the films Hikidashi no naka no love letter and Zatoichi: The Last. (Official site links and tags have also been updated on the blog.) Also added two film compilations being released on DVD that include Wild Life, The 3 Faces of Shinji Aoyama and Japanese Miscellany (both released by Ryko Distribution, have no idea about the quality).
The site will be moving to a new hosting service sometime this summer due to Yahoo! ending Geocities later in the year.
