Good to know that AIG survives in Japan and Toyohara is still a spokesman for ALICO Select.
New CM went up on 9 June

A few images from the new cm behind the cut…
The home and drama & film credits pages have been updated with information for the films Hikidashi no naka no love letter and Zatoichi: The Last. (Official site links and tags have also been updated on the blog.) Also added two film compilations being released on DVD that include Wild Life, The 3 Faces of Shinji Aoyama and Japanese Miscellany (both released by Ryko Distribution, have no idea about the quality).
The site will be moving to a new hosting service sometime this summer due to Yahoo! ending Geocities later in the year.
引き出しの中のラブレター | Hikidashi no naka no love letter | Listen To My Heart

scheduled release: October
official site (has a trailer… a subtitled version of the trailer is available here ) (no listing on IMDb)

Still looking for some kind of announcement on this… most of the other cast (such as Sorimachi Takashi and Ishihara Satoshi) were announced late last month. The film is listed as “filming” on IMDb with Toyohara in the cast.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but it does little to convey the artistry of the actor. A single clip of one scene from a film or drama episode also comes up short, but at least it preserves the actor’s movements and subtle facial changes as well as adding the critical element of voice. From the beginning of putting together the site, I wanted to be able to include short video clips from some of Toyohara’s work and I’ve finally started that process. Look for a film icon next to entries on the credits page. This isn’t high-tech video editing and like everything else with the site it’s experimental, which means there are bound to be glitches. They’ve been re-encoded to flash video from the source and some of those sources aren’t the best quality, but they’ll give the visitor an idea of Toyohara’s acting.
Except for Yami no kodomotachi (which I’m holding off on loading the video and captures from for a few days to allow a few friends to watch it first), video clips are up for what is available from 2008. Also, there is a clip from Chofu kuko. Over the next couple of weeks, I plan to add clips from other films and dramas on the list, but I won’t be announcing the additions in updates. Bandwidth is limited (as usual), so be gentle.
